Lightweight and easy to handle, our New Untreated English Larch/Douglas Fir Planed and Bevelled Sleepers have been machined to achieve a smooth surface and bevelled edges, ensuring a virtually splinter free sleeper suitable for use in sensitive applications such as parks, children's play areas and schools.
Machined from English Larch/Douglas Fir, due to the natural tightness of the grain and the high resin content of the timber, it is not necessary for them to be pressure treated - these natural characteristics are what gives these sleepers there long lasting qualities and stability. This is an ideal timber to apply paint applications to, along with wood stains that will enhance the natural grain of the wood.
Each sleeper is unique. Being a natural product, there may be colour variations, splits, knots and wanes.
Should you require a completely smooth finish, additional sanding may be required.
